Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala - Iman's Makeup : How To ?

Last night, celebrity makeup artist Sam Fine created a beautiful “Modern 30’s Glam” look for supermodel IMAN. Below, Sam shares the product he used to create this iconic look.

SKIN: Every look that walks the red carpet begins with flawless skin. I start by using Iman's Second to None Luxury Radiance Liquid Makeup Enriched with Minerals (in shade 2) to highlight and conceal the under eye area. Then I uses Iman’s Second to None Stick Foundation in the same shade to achieve a flawless complexion that not only looks great on the red carpet, but lasts though the night!

After using Iman’s Semi-Loose Powder Enriched with Minerals (in Earth Medium) to set foundation, I dust bronzer near the hairline and sweep onto cheeks to add a luminous glow to the skin. Bronzer also takes the place of blush and can be worn both day and night!

EYES: A smoky eye is one of Iman's favorite eye statements! I begin creating a smoky eye statement by using a dark shadow nearest the lashline and bringing it up past the crease of the eye, then using the same dark shadow underneath the eye to add drama and definition. Topping this off with a shimmering gold shadow on the browbone and lining the inner rim of the eye in black for added drama. And no red carpet face is complete without false lashes and a couple of coats of mascara! Iman Cosmetics Luxury Eye Defining Powders in Black Magic, Vixen & Bewitched are great for adding shimmer to the eye area.

LIPS: I wanted to dress each feature of the face, so I lined the mouth with a deep brown pencil and filled in the lip with a bourdeaux shade of lipstick, Iman Cosmetic’s Luxury Moisturizing Lipstick in WildThing, to make the look sensuous, striking, and oh, so sexy!

Jennifer Lopez – Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala

Jlo will forever remain my makeup icon. This was my favorite look from the night ! he voluminous hair is to die for ! Okay so the wind did a lil damage but its not bad.

I want that kinda hair - soft, silky, flowy with perfect bangs framing her beautiful face!

Don't get me started on my bangs - I cut them on my own a couple fo months back and have since then been pinning it back coz its an atrocious mess.

Jlo, will you be my BFF ?

Gisele Bundchen – Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala

If I ever go for this eye look , I'd probably receive a hundred comments saying I should blend it a lil more coz it looks like a strap of shadow hanging out of the corner of my eye. One that would potentailly start flapping with the wind.

But no one dare say such a thing to Gisele - super models can do no wrong.
Also, super models are actually super freakin aliens - no way she pushed baby out a few months back. Look at her !

I dont feel so good about my two pound weight loss anymore.

Christina Hendricks – Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala

I am one of the biggest fans of Christina Hendricks. So when I saw this I almost wanted to cry.
What have they done to this full figured Goddess ?
She looks like a corpse. I'm tellin y'all plum / wine shadow along the crease is never a good idea. It looks like a purple bruised eye unless you are Jennifer Aniston. Somehow Jen can carry it off - no one else.

Not Hendricks and I love her !

Jessica Alba – Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala

I wasn't a huge fan of Alba but I'm beginning to like her...

That being said - this look does her no justice. I love the combo of retro hair with contemporary makeup. But she looks tired and oily. What do you say ?

Taylor Swift – Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala

Taylor - you are young and fabulous . So, enough with the red lipstick, pale dress combos. Go fresh - go pink , go turquoise eyeshadow - do young.

Blake Lively – Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala

Gorgeous girl but I thought there was a little too much tanning action going on. Or may be it was done to complement the dress ? I wish I could say I look this great with flat hair - but I don't.

Like the pink lipstick ? Its NARS Love Devotion.

Emma Watson – Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala

Jessica Biel – Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala

Not feelin the hair.
At all.
The makeup is a good inspiration for everyday makeup. Did you like the lipstick ?
If you did try Hard Candy Lipstick - Painted Lady. I have it on today !

I love the genuine heartfelt smile. Also must mention - one must have a killer body to carry off a dress like that !

Have you see Valentine's Day ? She is TINY and has great arms !

Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala - Katy Perry Hair : How To ?

Celebity Hair Stylist for Pantene - Danilo was responsible for the retro glam waves on Katy Perry.

“Katy’s been incredibly fun to work with this year because she loves to experiment with varied retro styles while still keeping the charm of old-school glamour. The look I created tonight was very 50’s Liz Taylor, hair pulled off the face with a sea of black waves.

To style her classic glamour set, I first started by washing hair with a clean base. Then, I sprayed hair with the new Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Detangler to condition hair with a silky finish before the blow dry. I used both a round brush and finger tousles to create the glamour waves, then lightly sprayed them with new Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Touchable Hairspray for a finishing hold. The front of Katy’s hair was simply pulled to the side, twisted, and pinned in place. Katy’s dress was made specifically for her, so I wanted to make sure that her hair was just as flashing (literally) as the dress.”
