Smashbox Summer 2009 Untamed Collection : Review & Swatches

The new Summer 2009 Untamed Collection from Smashbox looks totally flamboyant and fearless ! The collection consists of cream blush, lip glosses, eye brightening pencils and waterproof shadow liner trios.

I tried out their Creamy Cheek Color in Terracotta and the two Water Proof Shadow Liner Trios that were released with this collection.

The Creamy Cheek Color in Terracota ($24) is a deep nude/beige shade that is perfect to create a summer flushed look . It was everything I wanted from Three Custom Colors Cream Blush in Wallflower. The Smashbox Creamy Cheek Color gives me the better-than-bare look. It is a shade that will look good across various skin tones especially the medium to dark tones. The product has Vitamin E oil which makes it very easy to apply apart from the skin care benefits. I apply it with my fingers. I take some on my finger tips and dab them across my cheeks. Wait for a couple of minutes and reapply to layer the color and to make it stay on longer. Remember not to rub the color in; just dab it. This shade instantly warms up my face and paired along with my new foundation gives me a super dewy sexy look !

The Water Proof Shadow Liner Trios ($29) obviously contain three color in each. The choices for coordinated shades are great ! The Exotic trio has a beige, a purple and a shimmery rose color while the Savage Trio has a white gold, emerald green and a deep coppery brown. The colors apply very smoothly and work well as all over color. I love the idea of a small plastic box with a lid inside. A lot more sanitary and a lot more clean. The outer box is transparent at the bottom so you can see the shades ! My only reservation is with the size. I cant even fit my ring finger into any one of the shades if I want to use it as an all over color. Only my tiny angled eyeliner brush fits into it. If the size inside were the same size as the outside box , it would be just the perfect product.

I wore a combination of the two eyeliner trios this past weekend. They have a good staying power, however the colors are not ones that pop out way too much. These will look just as good at work as they would at a lazy evening out with friends. I paired it with a nude long staying lip gloss from a drugstore brand that performed way above my expectations. I loved the color and the formula ! Wanna take a stab at which brand it could be ?

Overall the collection is definitely worth a trip to the mall and a lookie into the wallet !

Love,
Indian Girl
